Advancing connectivity in Boston with 400G solutions

TOWARDEX deploys HUBER+SUHNER's 400G CUBOsystem, enhancing high-capacity connections across the Boston area.

The growing demand for high-capacity 100G enterprise connectivity is being addressed with new solutions through TOWARDEX’s deployment of the HUBER+SUHNER CUBOsystem 400G muxponder in the Boston area. This deployment enhances services at the metro edge and supports delivery of high-bandwidth connectivity to customer locations.

TOWARDEX, which operates the Massachusetts Internet Exchange (MASS IX), has worked with HUBER+SUHNER to implement 400G muxponding and media conversion at customer sites. This compact architecture supports the potential for future upgrades to 800G and 1.6T optical transport.

With increasing demand for 100G services in office complexes and multi-tenant buildings, TOWARDEX selected the CUBOsystem 400G solution. It provides a 400G uplink at customer locations that can be divided into multiple 100G circuits, offering operational flexibility and lowering cost-per-bit.

The CUBOsystem platform integrates with existing ROADM architectures and allows for scaling services at the edge. It reduces equipment requirements at customer sites and supports service expansion across the region. The platform has been deployed in dense metro and challenging environments.

TOWARDEX noted the importance of carrier-grade optical transmission equipment, and HUBER+SUHNER provided expertise to support this deployment.
The collaboration between TOWARDEX and HUBER+SUHNER supports network scalability and ongoing integration of high-capacity optical transport.
