Vertiv, recognised globally for its critical digital infrastructure solutions, has launched its latest innovation: the Vertiv™ PowerDirect 7100 Energy. This innovative DC power system introduces an adaptable approach to fortifying network reliability and expediting energy transition for telecom and edge operators.

Now offered across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, this system provides up to 52 kW of scalable 48 V DC power. Impressively, it achieves up to 98% efficiency. Its seamless design accommodates multiple energy sources, from traditional grids to alternative solar, wind, or fuel-cell energies, ensuring continuous power even when grid reliability falters.

Central to this system are the Vertiv™ solar converters and modular rectifiers, all orchestrated by the Vertiv™ NetSure™ Control Unit (NCU). This synergy not only allows advanced load management and remote monitoring but also facilitates energy scheduling to optimise system performance and prolong equipment longevity.

According to Dave Wilson, Vertiv's director of global hybrid solutions, the world foresees a demand for energy efficiency alongside burgeoning technologies like 5G and edge communication. The PowerDirect 7100 Energy emerges as a singular intelligent platform that meets this demand by adapting to varied grid conditions, ensuring reliability while promoting cleaner energy strategies.

Designed with compact and challenging environments in mind, the PowerDirect 7100 Energy caters to telecom and edge data configurations with 500 A, 750 A, and 1000 A options. Thanks to its front-access design, installation and servicing are streamlined. Moreover, it boasts an operational tolerance from -40 °C to +65 °C, making it ideal for the most remote or exposed locations.

This state-of-the-art system further extends Vertiv's robust lineup of Vertiv™ NetSure™ DC power solutions. Integrated into Vertiv’s comprehensive power train and complemented by thermal and IT management solutions, it crafts a sturdy foundation for efficient, reliable, and future-ready digital infrastructure.
