Fundamentals, renowned for its expertise in intelligent grid voltage control, has unveiled the SuperTAPP SG Essential, an automatic voltage control (AVC) relay poised to transform voltage management for industrial and private network operators.

Harnessing over three decades of experience with the SuperTAPP technology, this new relay offers robust automated voltage control for private networks beset by fluctuating loads and supply conditions. Crucially, it does so without the prohibitive costs or complexities associated with traditional AVC systems. By ensuring consistent voltage levels and optimising supply performance, operators can maintain reliability and mitigate the risks posed by variable loads.

The versatile design caters to a broad spectrum of applications including manufacturing, renewable energy, process industries, data centres, healthcare, transport, and defence. Furthermore, it is tailored to the requirements of Independent Distribution Network Operators (IDNOs) and Independent Connection Providers (ICPs).

John Hiscock, CEO of Fundamentals, noted: "Industrial facilities, data centres, and renewable energy sites are stepping up to manage their own energy infrastructure. But too often, they’re left without the voltage control tools they need. The market has long prioritised solutions for large utilities, not the networks that demand agility, resilience, and efficiency. At the same time, ageing infrastructure worldwide is under pressure from the demands of a low carbon grid. SuperTAPP SG Essential fills that gap. It’s smart, scalable, and finally makes voltage control practical and affordable for private operators."

The SuperTAPP SG Essential streamlines the process of voltage regulation by intelligently adjusting transformer tap positions. Its modular design allows operators to commence with the Essential model and seamlessly upgrade to more advanced configurations, such as Basic, Advanced, or Ultimate, without the need for hardware replacement.

Deployment flexibility is another hallmark of the SuperTAPP SG Essential. Operators can opt for self-installation with technical support from Fundamentals, choose a commissioned installation and configuration, or integrate the relay into a comprehensive voltage control scheme, facilitated either by Fundamentals or third-party suppliers.
