Security veteran Mike Denning joins Verizon

In his new role, Denning will be responsible for overseeing Verizon’s global security business.

Veteran security expert Mike Denning has joined Verizon Enterprise Solutions as vice president of global security. Mike is a noted authority in the security field with a proven track record in serving enterprise organizations.


In his new role, Mike will be responsible for overseeing Verizon’s global security business, where he will manage more than 500 employees around the world, seven global Security Operations Centers (SOCs), the Verizon Cyber Intelligence Center (VCIC), the product management and development organization and security sales operations. As a recognized leader of managed security services, Verizon delivers a wide-ranging portfolio of both premise- and cloud-based offerings.


Prior to Verizon, Mike spent time in the U.S. Army as captain of field artillery and later held positions of increasing responsibility at Booz Allen Hamilton, MCI and VeriSign. Most recently, he served as senior vice president and general manager of CA Technologies’ security business unit. During his more than decade tenure at VeriSign, Mike was vice president and general manager of its Enterprise Security Services.


Mike holds a bachelor of science in engineering management from the United States Military Academy, West Point, New York and an MBA in Information Systems from John Hopkins University in Washington, D.C.


He resides in Leesburg, Va. with his wife and four sons.
