Prysmian Group appoints business development manager for its Draka UC Connect System

Draka’s global expansion continues apace with the appointment of Lee Stokes as Product Manager Universal Cabling (UC) Connect. UC Connect is a complete cabling solution for enterprise and datacentre communications networks, which comes with third party approval.

Lee’s new role will see him take responsibility for the design and development of new product ranges for Draka’s rapidly growing markets in the UK, Asia and Turkey. In addition, he will support the sales teams in each region with technical expertise and provide advice and information for installers and consultants.

For Lee this role combines market insight with technological knowhow. Speaking about his appointment he says: “This is a fantastic opportunity to apply my skills and experience to a focused development strategy to grow the market for a world-leading cable manufacturing company,” he says.

Network infrastructure is fundamental to the profitability of a business. Draka is investing in a significant market development programme to raise brand awareness of its UC Connect globally to produce high-performing, cost effective network infrastructure solutions for commercial, retail and industrial applications.

Lee Stokes was previously involved in the development of the UC Connect System as business development manager, so was perfectly positioned to take on this new role. He joined Draka with a background as a hands-on engineer who developed his career into product development, recently holding the role of product manager.
The Draka brand is part of the Prysmian Group, a world leader in the telecom and systems cabling.
