Syncsort’s new products deliver an end-to-end solution to help customers offload Big Data to Hadoop

New capabilities help organisations access, analyse and transform workloads from data warehouses and legacy systems, for lower cost processing and advanced analytics in Hadoop.

Syncsort has announced the delivery of key enhancements to its market-leading, high-performance and easy-to-use DMX-h Hadoop ETL software. The enhancements are geared to support customers’ growing demand to shift ELT workloads from enterprise data warehouses and legacy systems – including mainframes – into Hadoop.

In addition to the new product features, Syncsort is also addressing growing offload demand by supporting the Sqoop Apache Hadoop initiative.

“Many of our customers are looking to free-up data warehouse capacity and reduce legacy system costs by offloading expensive data workloads and data to Apache Hadoop,” said Lonne Jaffe, CEO Syncsort. “Our rapid pace of technology innovation continues with the Project SILQ Technology Preview, differentiated Tableau and Vertica integration, and contributions to multiple Hadoop-related open source projects.”

Product enhancements to help understand and migrate ELT workloads from the Data Warehouse into Hadoop:
A new and unique Syncsort technology provides an integrated analysis of ELT SQL jobs:
· Project SILQ Technology Preview: an innovative, first-of-a-kind data warehouse offload technology for analysing SQL scripts and providing a detailed, graphical visualisation of the entire data flow and best practices on how to develop the corresponding DMX-h jobs in Hadoop. A Technology Preview of the web-based technology is now available.
· Tableau Integration: Syncsort’s Hadoop ETL now allows business users to easily create Tableau data extracts that blend data from a wide variety of sources including data warehouses, mainframe and other legacy systems, facilitating advanced analytics and visualisation in Tableau.
