Gintel technology powers Dipper’s cloud-based switchboard services

Disruptive SME-focused MVNO launches in Norway with Gintel solutions.

Gintel has enabled Dipper to launch a new set of advanced business voice services for SME customers.

Dipper is a new MVNO that has launched to capitalise on the largely underserved SME market in Norway, in particular companies looking for easy and low-cost mobile services but with enhanced capabilities. In the past, advanced business services, such as those supported by PBX systems have been inaccessible to users in the micro-enterprise segment as there have been high adoption costs. Dipper seeks to shatter market preconceptions by offering small businesses access to advanced but easy to use mobile capabilities at a fixed price and with no contract tie-in.

“Our mission is to meet the needs of small businesses with a range of low-cost, flexible mobile packages that offer outstanding value. To support this, we needed a technology partner with proven expertise and a solution that could grow as we grow through an innovative cloud-based model”, said Cecilie Vanem, Managing Director at Dipper. “Partnering with Gintel meant that we could take advantage of a proven solution but customise it to deliver the targeted services, quickly and efficiently.”

With the Gintel switchboard solution, Dipper can offer small businesses features such as IVR / Auto Attendant, Call Queuing, Hunt Groups, and Presence Management. A mobile client is available to ensure smooth control of the service.

“We are experiencing increased demand for our cloud-based solutions as they provide an efficient way for our customers to get to market fast. Dipper selected Gintel because they knew that our proven solutions could also be adapted to meet their requirements,” commented Ernst Thue, CEO of Gintel, “The combination of rapid time to market and our flexibility has enabled us to deliver an advanced suite of services optimised for Dipper’s target customer group.”

Advanced voice services can make a significant contribution to SME efficiency and growth. Dipper’s offer is based on a customised version of Gintel’s Enterprise Call Manager (ECM) solution. ECM is a turnkey inbound call management platform, designed to offer optimised call routing and advanced functionality to enterprise and SME customers. Providers such as Dipper offer subscription-based packages that deliver predictable revenue and capture growth.

“ECM enables MVNOs and virtual service providers to quickly launch services to target enterprise customers, helping them to fill gaps neglected by others” added Mr Thue. “Confronted by increasingly competitive consumer markets, we see service providers of all sizes considering how to target the enterprise. By thinking carefully about the needs of the target segment, as Dipper has done, service providers can find many growth opportunities”.

Established as an R&D division of Telenor and spun-out as an independent company in 2001, Gintel has been at the forefront of IN and service innovation for over 15 years with solutions used by millions of subscribers each day. Gintel’s platform independent technology has been deployed in many networks including Telenor, Orange, Tele2 and Axiata, providing the assurance that its pioneering technology is rooted in practical experience. Gintel was also recently included in the prestigious Deloitte Technology Fast 500 report.
