Remote end user support and management now not so remote

Ivanti has released Ivanti® Unified Endpoint Manager 2020.1 with expanded support and management for remote users. Enabling IT professionals to discover, inventory and configure any device – local or remote – Unified Endpoint Manager now gives organisations the visibility and control they need to reduce risk, simplify management and minimise IT management costs. 

New Product Features: 

Supporting both Windows and Mac devices, Unified Endpoint Manager 2020.1 manages PCs, laptops, servers, tablets and smart phones on local networks as well as remotely, including devices without an installed management agent. Providing a single point of control, the enhanced solution reduces the number of products required to manage even the most complex device estates while enhancing security, discovery, inventory management and configuration tasks. New enhancements include:

  • Cloud Storage for Software Delivery. Supporting both Azure and Amazon S3, Unified Endpoint Manager now offers cloud storage for software delivery which increases availability of software packages for remote users while giving IT professionals greater control of network bandwidth and reducing demands on VPN traffic.
  • Remote Control Enhancements. Unified Endpoint Manager has added full MacOS support, multiple monitor support and support for file transfers and remote executes, simplifying remote management, no matter where users are using their devices.
  • Enhanced Bitlocker Support. Particularly important for users working remotely, Unified Endpoint Manager now furthers device security with enhanced BitLocker management to encrypt drives, store BitLocker recovery keys on each device and report the encryption status for each device. 
  • Expanded Modern Device Management. Extending support for the heterogeneous device enterprise, including mobile devices, Unified Endpoint Manager now adds Certified Android Enterprise support and improves management capabilities for iOS, MacOS as well as Windows. 
  • Added Agent OS Support. Unified Endpoint Manager has expanded agent OS support now including support for Windows 10, MacOS 10.15.x, Windows Server 2019, RedHat 9, CentOS8 and Raspbian 10.
