Modular data centre to host Europe’s first exascale supercomputer

Dr Crispin Keable, Senior Solutions Architect for HPC, AI, and Quantum, Eviden, explains how a set of some 50 pre-built modules (20 IT containers, 15 power feed containers, 10 logistics containers) will provide a 2,300m2 turnkey data centre for the Julich Supercomputing Centre in Germany. Benefits to the client include flexibility and agility when it comes to required upgrade configurations, delivery time reduced by 50%, costs cut by a factor of three and a much faster installation process when compared to a traditional data centre build.
