Panduit, a global provider of network and electrical infrastructure solutions, has introduced OmniSplice, a line of fusion-spliced fibre optic connectors. This product line expands Panduit's portfolio and is designed to support enterprise networks, data centres, and edge applications.

These fusion splice connectors, also known as pre-polished splice connectors, are intended for environments where transmission quality and installation efficiency are important. They enable fast fusion splice terminations and aim to deliver consistent results.

The compact design is compatible with standard active fusion splicing equipment, eliminating the need for additional specialist tools and integrating with common installation and maintenance workflows.

OmniSplice connectors include the splice point within the connector housing, reducing the need for additional components such as pigtails. This design helps limit installation steps, space requirements, and documentation, while providing mechanical protection for the splice point. This can be beneficial in environments subject to mechanical or operational stresses, supporting the stability of fibre-optic connections.

The connectors feature pre-assembled, pre-split fibre stubs supported by a holder design that facilitates the fusion splicing process. This design supports field handling and helps deliver consistent results across different levels of user experience. OmniSplice can be used for commissioning, moves, adds, changes (MACs), and repairs, including in situations with time constraints.

As fibre optic infrastructure expands across enterprise LANs, data centres, and edge facilities, solutions that integrate with existing systems are increasingly important. OmniSplice is designed to complement Panduit’s fibre optic system offerings, which include cables, connectors, patch panels, enclosures, and cable management solutions.
