Zayo Europe expands its footprint in Iberia with Reintel partnership

Zayo Europe partners with Reintel to enhance connectivity across Iberia, increasing network reach and digital transformation.

Zayo Europe has partnered with Reintel, a Spanish dark fibre operator, to elevate its service offerings throughout Iberia. The collaboration highlights the introduction of Zayo's 400GE enabled wavelength network to the Iberian Peninsula, broadening its Tier-1 IP services into Portugal and further Spanish regions.

Carriers and enterprises in Iberia can now leverage Zayo's network, which connects over 600 data centres across Europe. The partnership seeks to provide low-latency, high-capacity connectivity within Iberia, linking significant business locations such as Madrid, Lisbon, Barcelona, Bilbao, and Sines.

This network expansion hopes to not only enhance diversity and reduce deployment times but also strengthen connectivity options for enterprises and carriers throughout the region. Covering over 3,500km of fibre within Iberia, Zayo’s network facilitates aims for seamless data centre-to-data centre connectivity, expedites cloud adoption, and supports high-performance data management.

Furthermore, the move strengthens Zayo Europe’s global presence, connecting Iberia to international networks, thus aiding businesses' digital transformation efforts globally. Spain and Portugal are quickly emerging as significant data centre locations, driven by a strong renewable energy offering, fuelling investments in AI and new technologies.

Zayo’s partnership with Reintel taps into their high-quality, mission-critical fibre infrastructure, enhancing enterprises' connectivity across Iberia. The collaboration serves as an extension following Zayo’s previous German market expansion, furthering their pan-European network reach. With significant data centre developments slated for 2026, this partnership positions Zayo to help influence connectivity trends.
