Dell unveils next-gen AI data platform enhancements

Dell's AI Data Platform enhancements aim to optimise enterprise AI efficiency, transforming siloed data into valuable insights through advanced infrastructures.

The latest advancements in Dell Technologies' AI Data Platform promise to revolutionise how enterprises leverage distributed and siloed data. As AI adoption within enterprises continues to rise, there is a pressing need for solutions that can effectively transform such data into valuable insights.

The Dell AI Data Platform serves as a pivotal element of the Dell AI Factory, offering an open and modular foundation. This design enables the conversion of scattered data silos into meaningful insights by separating data storage from processing. This separation reduces bottlenecks and introduces the flexibility required for diverse AI workloads, including training, fine-tuning, and inference.

At the heart of the platform are four key building blocks—advanced storage engines, sophisticated data engines, deep cyber resiliency, and comprehensive data management services. These components unite to create a scalable and adaptable platform that helps customers harness AI's potential.

Storage Engines: Dell's PowerScale and ObjectScale are the platform's core storage engines, delivering vital performance, security, and multi-protocol access for handling AI data. The new integrations, particularly the NVIDIA GB200 and GB300 NVL72, boost performance, scalability, and efficiency while minimising power consumption and hardware requirements.

  • PowerScale now supports NAS simplicity, enhancing AI workflow optimisation.
  • ObjectScale, known for its performance, facilitates a scalable S3-native object storage solution to manage vast AI workloads efficiently.

Data Engines: Dell’s data engines are developed in collaboration with prominent AI leaders, including NVIDIA, Elastic, and Starburst. Notably, their new Data Search Engine improves decision-making capabilities by enhancing data accessibility and natural queries.

  • Developed alongside Elastic, this tool performs rapid data searches, integrating effortlessly with Dell's MetadataIQ data discovery software.
  • The Data Analytics Engine allows seamless data querying, transforming raw data into business-ready solutions swiftly. Collaborations with Starburst highlight the engine's ability to amalgamate data from various sources, ensuring streamlined AI deployments.

The integration of NVIDIA cuVS within the Dell AI Data Platform introduces a leap in vector search performance, offering an accelerated hybrid search experience with on-premises control. This integration facilitates quicker, efficient insights and a streamlined deployment experience.

This release showcases Dell's commitment to enhancing AI capabilities across diverse industries, empowering organisations to turn AI pilot programmes into full-scale productions effectively and efficiently.
