ISACA, the global professional association championing the digital trust workforce, announces its renewed pledge to the European Commission’s Cybersecurity Skills Academy, reinforcing its mission to enhance cybersecurity capabilities across Europe. This new set of commitments continues the work undertaken in previous years and places greater focus and emphasis on deeper academic collaboration, expanding scholarship opportunities, and championing gender equality within the cybersecurity sector.
This pledge builds on the progress ISACA has made since joining the Cybersecurity Skills Academy launched by the European Commission in 2023 to address the cybersecurity skills gap. Over the past year, ISACA has engaged with 60 training organizations and collaborated with 30 European universities, equipping educators with essential knowledge to equip the next generation of cybersecurity experts. More than 1,200 students benefited from free ISACA memberships, allowing them access to a wealth of resources, certifications, and mentorship opportunities. Additionally, ISACA organized over 1,170 events, including 440 certification trainings, empowering professionals and citizens across Europe to strengthen their cybersecurity skills.
The key pillars of the renewed pledge include:
• Enhanced Academic Collaboration: Expanding partnerships with universities to embed cybersecurity skills across diverse curricula.
• Scholarships for Emerging Talent: Launching scholarship programs to support the next generation of cybersecurity leaders.
• Promoting Gender Equality: Driving initiatives to boost women’s representation in cybersecurity, fostering diversity and inclusion across the industry.
