Vantage Data Centers appoints Arpen Tucker

Sales veteran to drive UK business development for enterprise clients.

Vantage Data Centers, a leading global provider of hyperscale and colocation data centre campuses, has appointed Arpen Tucker as senior business development manager. Based in London, Arpen has responsibility for winning and managing new enterprise business for Vantage, focusing on the UK market and the company’s Cardiff hyperscale and colocation campus, the largest data centre facility in Europe.

Joining from Global Switch, Arpen has more than 20 years industry experience having worked in senior sales/commercial roles for a number of leading B2B technology companies across telecoms, data centres, hosting and cloud services. In addition to Global Switch, these have included Telecity and Globix (both since acquired by Equinix), Epsilon Telecommunications, Megaport and Lumen (formerly CenturyLink).

In 2011, Arpen co-founded the Data Centre Alliance, an industry association promoting best-practice and thought-leadership across the data centre sector.

“I am excited to be joining the Vantage team during a period of continued investment and rapid growth. With our world-class facility in Cardiff, we have a tremendous opportunity to cement our position as a leading provider of colocation services to large-scale enterprises in the UK,” said Arpen Tucker.

Located on 50-acres, Vantage’s Cardiff CWL11 data centre provides private data halls and colocation solutions to international as well local enterprise/public sector clients. Using 100% renewable energy, the facility offers a large choice of carriers and has fibre delivered by many Tier 1 service providers, offering customers low latency between Wales and London of less than 1.5 milliseconds.

In addition, Vantage’s Cloud Gateway provides direct access to leading public cloud providers, including Microsoft ExpressRoute. Operated by Vantage within the Cardiff campus, the fully redundant layer 2 service bypasses the internet and is a strategic point of connection into public cloud for the West of the UK. Cloud Gateway is also an essential component of hybrid cloud solutions implemented at the facility which also hosts LINX Wales for offering direct regional peering.

Antoine Boniface, president, EMEA, Vantage Data Centers, said: “Arpen is a highly experienced data centre sales professional and will play a vital role in accelerating our colocation and data centre revenues in the UK. We are delighted to have him on board.”
