The Brest-based company KOHLER-SDMO has formally become KOHLER®, completing the brand transition in EMEA.

Founded in 1966 in Brest, France, SDMO joined the international Kohler group in 2005, becoming KOHLER-SDMO in 2016 to reflect its part in the global Kohler network. With the final alignment to the KOHLER® brand, the company can accelerate development in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

This unique brand name reflects Kohler's single-minded commitment and ability to provide its customers around the world with ever increasing quality, adaptability and innovation. It also represents the synergy of products and services – a critical factor for customers in sectors such as data centers who want to replicate mission-critical power solutions at new build and expanded facilities across global markets.

Customers will continue to benefit from coordinated research and development activities, structural and logistical agility, and responsive after-sales service.

Kohler Power Systems’s EMEA operations will continue to be based out of France where the Brest plant recently received $6m of investment to expand production, test and storage facilities.

Lénaïk Andrieux, General Manager of Kohler Power Systems EMEA, said “We will continue to deliver our expertise globally from our historic home in Brittany. Over the past 17 years, we have successfully integrated operations and are able to deliver a global approach including services and maintenance. Our name change confirms our deep commitment to our customers and the ongoing investment in our people, products and processes across EMEA. Most importantly, our deep commitment to the region, via investment in the economy and community, remains unchanged.”

The completion of the brand transition in EMEA helps support Kohler’s global ambitions and commitment to a Sustainable Future. This includes the recent announcement of Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) compatibility with KOHLER generating sets, which provides up to 90% carbon neutral, mission-critical power.
