Volta receives second award

Central London-based data centre takes top spot for second year running at annual DCS Awards ceremony.

Volta Data Centres, the Central London-based carrier-neutral data centre, has been named as ‘Colocation Supplier of the Year’ for the second year in a row at the annual DCS Awards held at Grange St Paul’s Hotel, London. The award means the company has become the only data centre to have won the category in consecutive years.

The award, judged on unique services, industry accreditations and best business results in the European data centre market, recognised Volta and the outstanding colocation services and solutions it provides its customers.

The company provides a highly resilient and maintainable colocation centre in Central London and was the first data centre provider in the UK to guarantee 100 per cent uptime with its innovative Platinum Power SLA – a service that no other data centre in the UK provides.

The DCS Awards, held in May this year, is an annual event designed to highlight leading product designers, manufacturers, suppliers and providers operating in the European data centre market and reflect the achievements of the vendors and their business partners.

Jonathan Arnold, managing director at Volta Data Centres, said: “This award caps off a significant period of growth for Volta, having celebrated four years as an operating site in September last year and being placed on Deloitte’s ‘UK Technology Fast50’ list – ranking number 20 among the country’s fastest growing tech companies.

“Our colocation centre in London offers unique proximity to organisations of all sizes and in all industries, as well as excellent transport links with easy access for organisations outside of London. We changed the market by challenging the traditional fixed-term contracts and SLAs, offering services that no other data centre provider offers such as Platinum Power SLA, and we will continue to lead the way in the data centre market in the future.”
