LogPoint, European provider of SIEM technology, has launched a free service enabling businesses of all sizes to access the power of a proven Enterprise SIEM.
With GDPR on the horizon and cybercrime an ever-present threat, SIEM technology has become one of the fastest growing global technology markets*. This is due to its ability to rapidly search and correlate data to provide the visibility required by new regulations, as well as the advanced security alerts that could help contain a breach.
“Many companies have a misconception that SIEM is a technology reserved for large corporations with extensive budgets,” states Jesper Zerlang, CEO of LogPoint. “In fact, there is a place for SIEM in every organisation. LogPoint Free aims to showcase the benefits of SIEM to both small and large enterprises, debunking stereotypes of SIEM as an expensive box-ticking exercise.”
Zerlang continues: “The upcoming GDPR legislation is a hot topic among SMES and large organisations alike, with all parties trying to determine its potential business ramifications. SIEM will be a vital support tool when the regulation comes into force, and LogPoint Free provides IT managers, in small and large organisations, the chance to become familiar with systems and processes before progressing to a licensed model.”
According to the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), SMEs are increasingly being targeted by cyber criminals and were subjected to seven million cyber-attacks in the last year, costing the UK economy ?5.26bn**. Furthermore, all UK businesses have reported a 22 per cent increase in cyber-crime in the previous twelve months***.
A rise in cyber threats is accompanied by a growing number of industry regulations. LogPoint Free has been designed to provide full SIEM functionality. This includes continuously updated out-of-the-box compliance templates; search, analytics and the visualisation of data; an unlimited number of users; alerting, reporting and dashboards; access to selected applications; an easily upgradable licence and full access to LogPoint’s community and support services.
