Atos teams with VMware to launch Digital Private Cloud offering

Atos has launched its Digital Private Cloud offering, part of Atos Canopy Cloud portfolio to accelerate customers’ digital transformation. The solution is a part of Atos Hybrid Cloud managed services portfolio, and is based on VMware’s software-defined data center (SDDC) technologies. The Digital Private Cloud offering is available for customers worldwide immediately.

Eric Grall, Executive Vice President of Managed Services at Atos explains: ‘We understand the need to provide a unified, software-defined product that will enable our clients to leverage digital transformation. Atos has built one of the world’s largest hybrid clouds, and today I am pleased to announce the global release of the Digital Private Cloud (DPC), built in partnership with VMware. It is available to help IT leaders who articulate clear strategies in terms of security and governance, and are looking for partners who have the ability to assist them in their full cloud transformation, and in particular in private cloud”.

This offering is based on unified, fully automated and programmable architecture which will allow intelligent placement of applications and services on ‘purpose-fit’ infrastructure environments. As a part of this solution, organizations will be able to use VMware software-defined data center technologies.

Digital Private Cloud (DPC) by Atos and VMware enables enterprises to
·         Compete more effectively in the Digital Revolution, by enabling innovation without compromising on security.
·         Optimize the cost and performance of applications and empower IT to operate at the speed of business
·         Realize new digital business models with a scalable private cloud infrastructure that grows with your business.
·         Use expanded ‘On-demand’ capabilities which enable customers to receive ‘public cloud’ benefits within the realm of control and customizations enabled through private cloud.

“VMware is pleased to partner with Atos to help organizations realize the powerful business transformation benefits of the software-defined data center,” said David M. Parsons, vice president, Strategic Systems Integrators & Outsourcers, VMware. “Digital Private Cloud enables intelligent placement of application and services on ‘fit for purpose’ infrastructure, built on VMware’s software-defined data center technologies, empowering organizations to leverage a unified, automated and scalable solution to grow with business needs and enable new sources of innovation.”

In a recent report by Everest Group ‘Private Cloud Enablement Services – Market Update and PEAK Matrix Assessment: Marry with Public Cloud or Die, Sep. 21st, 2016’, Atos was named leader and star performer in private cloud enablement services.
