Timico launches cloud portal for its Virtual Data Centre clients

To simplify day-to-day ordering and management of infrastructure resources.

The managed IT, internet and communications service provider, Timico, will be launching a brand new customer portal for its new and existing Virtual Data Centre (VDC) customers.
Timico’s VDC service is a complete cloud solution delivering servers, storage, networking, security and other IT elements as a service from its own UK-based data centres.
VDC can now be managed entirely through the new, feature-rich Timico Cloud Portal which gives users greater freedom to customise and manage their virtual environment with ease. They can create brand new VDCs as well as adding more resources to expand their existing environment. The portal also gives access to other features such as virtual machine metrics, CPU core usage and memory usage, so clients can check their resources are always correctly configured. Cloud backup, cloud antivirus and Microsoft licences can also be ordered through the portal, making it a true one-stop-shop for Timico cloud customers.
Andrew Fox, Director of Managed Networks, Connectivity and Cloud Services at Timico said, “The great thing about this new portal is that it’s really flexible, intuitive and easy to use. It is also a huge time saver for customers as they can log in at any time and make changes for themselves. The Timico Cloud Portal gives them complete control of their environment without needing to manage any of the software or hardware underpinning the service, making their servers truly software-defined.
“If they want to add extra RAM to a server for example, they can go into the portal and order it directly and then after checkout, it will be automatically added to their Virtual Data Centre.”
VDC boasts the very best in IT optimisation allowing users to move from a CAPEX to an OPEX investment model, reducing their IT costs and improving service response and performance. Clients can now create virtual machines in just a few clicks by simply picking a template from the portal or by cloning an existing server.
