Yahoo! JAPAN is using the A10 Thunder ADC solution to support its affiliate GYAO!, a leading Japanese video delivery service operated by GYAO Corporation. The high-speed traffic processing and efficient load balancing of the Thunder ADC enables GYAO! to provide its users with an enhanced viewing experience.

To meet the fast-growing demand for HD video streaming, GYAO! needed scalable network infrastructure that could handle traffic peaks exceeding 800 Gbps. By implementing A10’s next-generation Thunder ADC solution, GYAO! improved its video streaming performance while achieving major savings: 80 per cent lower cost per port.

“With the A10 Networks Thunder ADC, we reduced the number of servers we needed by 90 per cent and gained the ability to deliver up to 153 Gbps of throughput per appliance,” said Koichi Miyata, Manager, Load Balance, Infrastructure Engineering Department Site Operation Division at Yahoo! JAPAN. “A10 has been an invaluable partner, giving us the networking infrastructure we need to support our growing business.”

“We’re committed to providing our customers with solutions that are secure, responsive, and always on,” said Lee Chen, CEO of A10 Networks. “By implementing the A10 Thunder ADC solution to consolidate functionality and reduce overall network latency, Yahoo! JAPAN can focus its efforts on growing its video streaming service alongside its customer base.”
