Baselayer and Intel partner

BASELAYER Technology has given details of the integration of Intel DCM into BASELAYER’s RunSmart software portfolio.

The BASELAYER RunSmart OS, formerly branded BASELAYER OS, is an infrastructure intelligence product with editions available to customers in the Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM), Service Provider (Wholesale and Retail Colocation) and soon to be Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) markets. The latest release of RunSmart OS is built on a modular architecture, an industry standard messaging bus, and around extensive connectivity. The goal of the modular architecture is to enable easy and rich integration of existing sensor data to relevant third party content and solutions.

Intel’s DCM brings tremendous potential for enterprises, governments and service providers to monitor and manage their IT assets more effectively. “At BASELAYER, we understand the daily challenges data center users face. The integration with Intel DCM has upgraded our ability to give customers key information as it relates to IT performance”, said William D. Slessman, CEO of BASELAYER. “It enables customers to visualize information ranging from infrastructure to IT and transform the data into actionable business outcomes, delivering value to our customers in ways they’ve never been able to realize before.”

The robust network of IT provided by Intel DCM fulfills the BASELAYER’s RunSmart philosophy of “Sophistication SIMPLY Delivered”. According to Samir A. Shah, VP of Product Management and Marketing at BASELAYER, “We are creating a sophisticated product that is simple to connect, simple to use, simple to upgrade, and simple to add new functionality. The Intel DCM integration allows us to give our customers the most value and best user experience.”

RunSmart OS also provides smart, customized dashboards for visualizing and analyzing the efficiency, utilization, and operation of the integrated IT infrastructure.

“BASELAYER’s unique, rich visualization, combined with the Intel DCM, gives users the ability to create detailed and personalized dashboards and meaningful business driven workflows. With the need for greater transparency, capacity trending and big data enablement, RunSmart OS addresses these challenges head on,” said Jeff Klaus, General Manager of Data Center Solutions, Intel Corporation. “Additionally, BASELAYER’s proven ability to scale and distribute their software architecture across multiple data centers globally will add value to data center consumers.”
