BT puts CA Technologies Identity and Access Management Software at the core of its Cloud Identity Service

CA Technologies and BT have revealed that CA Secure Cloud, CA’s identity and access management (IAM) solution for managed service providers, has been integrated into BT’s new managed identity service, BT Assure Cloud Identity. BT’s service helps protect business data wherever it’s located – in the cloud, on-premise or in hybrid IT systems – using the enterprise-grade IAM capabilities within CA Secure Cloud paired with BT’s extensive managed security expertise.

BT customers benefit from a turnkey, cost-effective security system that supports the increasing demand for mobility, growing use of social identities and the need for partner integration and customer access. Assure Cloud Identity offers a flexible solution designed to meet the demand for securely connecting employees, customers and partners to company applications from any location on any device.

CA Secure Cloud is the core IAM technology behind the Assure Cloud Identity service, controlling access to BT customers’ on-premise and cloud applications. This includes the efficient provisioning and management of users; federated single sign-on for software-as-a-service (SaaS) and on-premise applications; and protection against inappropriate access and fraud through proven advanced authentication services that incorporate multi-factor and behavioural analytics to make the process as seamless as possible.

Mark Hughes, president, BT Security, said: “CA Technologies has been a trusted security partner for BT for more than ten years. Together, we help ease our customers’ concerns over data access and security. As a managed service, Assure Cloud Identity gives our customers the confidence and convenience of protecting critical data from loss or improper use, no matter where it resides. They are able to do this, without a significant investment into hardware or staffing to support the technology and they free up time and resource for their core business.”

The new service is hosted and available in the UK within dual resilient data centres. It will progressively be made available throughout Europe and other geographies.
“A key component of CA’s security business strategy is to work with innovative and successful organizations that complement our business plans and extend our leading IAM solutions in the security arena,” said Steve Firestone, senior vice president and general manager, Security business, CA Technologies. “We are excited about our expanding work with BT to protect customer data while enabling the business to grow and thrive in the application economy.”
