Steel wire cable trays that eliminate ‘coupler creep’

Developed as part of Unitrunk’s commitment to expanding its Rapid Installation Systems (RIS) philosophy across its product ranges, EasyConnect features a new style of integral coupler designed to connect one length of tray flush to the end of the next.

Explains Tim Brown from Unitrunk: “Cable tray systems with integral couplers save time on site and make installation easier but, if they don’t enable the installer to fit one length of cable tray flush to the next, the combined length of the connected sections can ‘creep’ and just a few additional millimetres can be very problematic in many applications.

“EasyConnect has been designed to eliminate that problem while still offering the speed of install benefits associated with integral couplers, making it ideal for off-site fabrication of modular service units.”

The BS EN 61537 compliant EasyConnect is available in electro-zinc plated, hot-dip galvanised and stainless steel (304 and 316L) options. The range includes depths of 30mm, 60mm and 100mm in widths ranging from 50mm to 600mm. The new cable tray can also be supplied in bespoke lengths to order.

The product has already been specified for a number of projects, including use in two solar farms and a hospital where it was also used as secondary containment for modular services units.

Tim adds: “At Unitrunk we are constantly investing in our range and driving innovation in product design to help installers address common problems on site. A wide selection of accessories are already available to compliment the EasyConnect range and more RIS type products are currently in development. These additions are sure to make this exciting range the benchmark for Steel Wire Tray systems in the UK.”
