Eaton extends IT rack offering

Power management company Eaton has added a 2-Post Rack model to its affordable and flexible RE Series of enclosed racks for use in IT infrastructure. The new 45U-high RE Series 2-Post racks are ideally suited for network closet applications for copper and fibre patching, or as a passive rack in large data centres where they can be used for distributing LAN connections. The new racks feature a simple open frame mounting solution, yet provide maximal cabling access and capacity. They are also bolted together for easy on-site assembly and have an industry leading evenly distributed static load rating of 750kg.

“The new RE Series 2-Post Rack complements the already successful RE Series IT rack range designed with value added resellers and system integrators in mind,” said Rupert Jarman, product manager, Eaton EMEA. “They can also form an integral part of Eaton’s Intelligent Power Pod which is an integrated power infrastructure system for modern IT applications incorporating power backup, distribution and management with housing and support services.”

The open access design of the RE Series 2-Post rack enables quick and easy installation and provides secure connectivity for all internationally recognised cabling standards, including CAT 8. The robust floor mounting base is pre-drilled for secure mounting. To ensure that the performance of the cables is not impaired due to tight bend radii, adjustable cable spools are available. These spools are adjustable without tools from 127 to 203mm and can be fitted directly to the frame of the rack or mounted inside of the vertical cable manager channels. Cable managers are available in vertical or horizontal formats with either 140 or 280mm widths or 1U, 2U or 3U heights. Vertical cable baskets are also available in 100, 200 or 300m widths. RE 2 Post Rack is an EIA 310 E compliant 19 inch rack solution available with optional cable management accessories.
