Intelligent PDU range

Excel Networking Solutions, the copper, optical cabling and rack solutions provider, has launched a new range of intelligent Power Distribution Units (PDUs).

The new Excel Intelligent PDU family offers a high specification portfolio of power distribution units that are designed to suit any environment, where monitoring or managing of information is required. These products have superseded the previous Excel Intelligent PDU offering.

The new range will be available in three versions; INT1 – for local and remote overall powering, INT2 for local and remote overall and per socket monitoring and the INT3 to provide local and remote overall and per socket monitoring and switching.

Once the version of PDU has been chosen there is a choice of any combination of socket type including UK, Schuko, C13 and C19. The PDUs can be manufactured with up to 48 sockets and both single and three phase versions are available.

The Excel Intelligent PDU range comes with embedded HTML web pages which can be viewed as either HTTP or the more secure HTTPs. The web pages allow a user to monitor and control the power usage of the PDU, as well as providing the interface to set up the PDU and commission it for use.

Tracey Calcutt, Marketing Manager said ‘From our experience there isn’t an intelligent PDU ‘of one size fits all’ so having a solution that is totally flexible is imperative for our customers. The PDUs are manufactured in the UK under the strict quality control and with a 12 – 14 working days lead time from the point of order, we can ensure a quality solution with a quick turnaround.’

Calcutt continued ‘There is also a range of sensors to monitor the temperature, humidity and remote door locking and provides billing quality accuracy to better than 1% allowing the units to be used in co-location centres for the monitoring and charging of power used.’
