VIRTUS selects WiredRE to increase focus on U.S. market

VIRTUS’ location in London’s ‘Goldilocks zone’ of connectivity attracts increased interest from U.S. customers.

VIRTUS Data Centres Ltd. has selected WiredRE, the leading cloud, colocation and data centre advisor in the U.S., to better service its growing base of U.S. companies.

VIRTUS’ ground-breaking portfolio of uniquely flexible and efficient product and service offerings have contributed to its significant growth in 2014. This success has driven the continued expansion of the VIRTUS business, with the opening of its next generation intelligent LONDON2 data centre in West London; creating significant international opportunities for U.S. businesses looking for access to the UK and EMEA markets. Senior executives from VIRTUS and WiredRE have been meeting with potential customers on recent visits to the US, and WiredRE will be working to further these and other North America based opportunities.

In addition to its hyper efficient and agile solutions, VIRTUS’ LONDON2 data centre offers a leading broad and deep range of connectivity, density of physical fibre; and both multiple global and national tier one and two providers delivering services to customers. This connectivity investment builds on the optimised location of LONDON2, situated at the heart of London’s ‘connectivity Goldilocks zone’ linking to fibre routes connecting to mainland Europe while avoiding London, as well as routing across the Atlantic.

VIRTUS connectivity and cloud partnerships ensures its customers already benefit from seamless access to high speed metropolitan networks across London as well as connectivity to over 240 data centres in the UK and across Europe.

Furthermore, the launch of the VIRTUS Intelligent Portal (VIP), the UK industry’s first free Data Centre Infrastructure Management (DCIM) solution for colocation customers means VIRTUS provides customers all over the world with complete transparency into and control of their colocated data centre usage – not offered by other colocation providers - enabling them to visualise and manage space, power, cooling and energy usage through a single pane of glass, regardless of their physical location.

Everett Thompson, CEO, WiredRE says, “VIRTUS’ intelligent data centres provide the most efficient and flexible data centre solutions in the UK. Coupled with their optimised IT tools and service approach, an unmatched range of connectivity options, industry-leading adiabatic cooling and a unique DCIM service, VIRTUS is leading the way in helping customers optimise their IT and providing the lowest total cost of service in the UK. This is drawing an appetite from U.S. audiences attracted to a blend of the best wholesale and colocation offerings available from one provider in London. We’re absolutely delighted to be working alongside VIRTUS Data Centres, a provider who is leading the way by doing things differently.”

Neil Cresswell, Chief Executive Officer of VIRTUS Data Centres says, “VIRTUS has enjoyed significant growth over the last year. Following increased interest from U.S. customers, we felt it the right time to engage the specialised experience of WiredRE to ensure we could better serve potential US customers in their location and deliver our award winning range of flexible services more easily to U.S. customers. VIRTUS leads the way in using innovative technology and uniquely agile commercials to provide the most efficient Tier III certified data centre solutions available in the UK, for the lowest total cost of service, and we look forward to offering this innovation to the US market as well. ”
