Lowering the inherent skills level of applications development has led to some 5,700 users from 140 countries signing up for an Outsystems Platform personal account in the four months since it was first announced. The Platform aims to lower the barrier of entry to applications development, particularly in the fast-growing area of mobile applications. Typically, only seasoned programmers have been able to develop and deploy complex mobile and web applications, creating a strain and backlog within IT departments.
