Tyler bags Monroe County for SaaS ERP

The Wisconsin county signs a seven year contract for specialist, Government-focused ERP cloud service to run financial management

The County of Monroe in Wisconsin, USA, has decided to replace its long-standing financial management system with a new, SaaS-delivered ERP service from Tyler Technologies. Its Munis ERP system, together with related professional services, training and support, is set to be in place for a seven year contract run at least.

Monroe County plans to implement multiple Munis applications, including financial and human capital management applications, which will enhance the county’s reporting capabilities and access to information for employees, elected officials and citizens.

The county conducted a competitive review of available cloud-based ERP systems, which focused on finding a solution from a vendor who doesn’t rely on delivery via third-party hosting services. Tyler hosts and manages its SaaS-based solutions from its datacentres in Texas and Maine.

Another key requirement was for a Web- and Windows-based ERP solution that includes paperless document management, which Munis does.

By having Munis delivered as SaaS, Monroe County aims to reduce upfront capital costs, IT personnel costs, licence fees and hardware costs. Additionally, because Munis is available anytime and anywhere, the county will improve accessibility and provide network access for departments that currently don’t have access.

“Munis met Monroe County’s very specific ERP solution needs, and we are pleased they selected Tyler to help enhance functionality, service and transparency,” said Chris Hepburn, senior vice president of Tyler’s ERP & School Division. “The SaaS model provides our clients with Munis’ modern technology without requiring an investment of upfront capital or a large IT team to manage servers and other related infrastructure. Tyler looks forward to working with Monroe County for many years to come.”

The County is located in southwest Wisconsin and has about 45,000 residents. The State has already proved to be fertile territory for Tyler, however. For example, the city of La Crosse also uses Munis, and Portage County, Wisconsin, recently has also chosen to implement Munis as well.

The company specialises in providing end-to-end information management solutions and services for local governments. Tyler’s client base includes more than 11,000 local government offices in all 50 states in the USA, as well as Canada, the Caribbean, the UK and other international locations.
