Nexant goes SaaS

Company adds RevenueManager OnDemand,  a SaaS-delivered version of its well-established on-premise enterprise system for energy retailers

It is not uncommon for some people in and around cloud computing to berate vendors for the way they climb on board the cloud bandwagon by the simple attachment of the word `cloud’ to whatever products it is that they sell.

Sometimes such people are, of course, correct in their assessment. But this is a coin with two sides, and there are some software tools that have been successful in the on-premise world that, for users, make sense to continue using in a cloud services environment if that is possible.

An example of this is likely to come from Nexant, which has already built up a large body of users for its retail billing application for energy supply businesses, RevenueManager.

The company has now introduced a SaaS-delivered version of this, RevenueManager onDemand, with the aim of providing emerging energy retailers a simple `pay as you grow’ pricing model. This “It is great to see continued innovation by companies like Nexant that allow retailers to reduce operations costs and improve efficiency so they can offer better value to the consumer”

offers all the capabilities of RevenueManager enterprise edition, while enabling retailers to focus on marketing and customer acquisition. It also allows them to avoid the cost of investing in IT infrastructure and support.

With the OnDemand version, Nexant can provide a turnkey solution including software configuration, application testing with an EDI provider, and training.
