UK Business Secretary visits TelecityGroup’s new Finland data centre

Rt Hon Dr Vince Cable opens new TelecityGroup data centre, Hansa, in Helsinki.

 

The UK’s Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, The Rt Hon Dr Vince Cable MP, today became the first visitor to the newly opened TelecityGroup data centre in Finland. The Hansa data centre is TelecityGroup’s fifth in Helsinki.


As Europe becomes ever more interconnected, TelecityGroup’s growing network of data centres are providing the infrastructure to house the IT equipment which allows the digital sector to continue expanding.


The Hansa data centre adds 5MW of customer power to our capacity in Finland, and along with the recently-completed Viikinmaki data centre, provides two state of the art sites to handle our customers growing demand. The unique location of our data centres in Finland enables them to be a key hub connecting Eastern and Western Europe, supporting the growth of the European digital economy. TelecityGroup operates five data centres in Helsinki, and over thirty across Europe, hosting IT infrastructure for some of the world’s largest organisations.


Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, The Rt Hon. Vince Cable and His Excellency Mr Matthew Lodge, UK Ambassador to Finland today joined Marko Vanninen, Managing Director of TelecityGroup Finland at the Hansa data centre.
