Axis joins Jamcracker to move DMsuite

The Axis data masking tool is now available through Jamcracker’s distribution network

One way securing data, especially when operating in the cloud, is data masking. This is the trick of not bothering about `securing’ data in such a way that no others can find it or see it, but just to change the important, sensitive data so that what is accessed by the unapproved is meaningless to them.

This is an approach that has potential value for a wide range of security applications, and particularly so in the applications and service development world, where testing often involves the use of live data. So it also makes sense for any vendor of such technologies to find the widest possible routes to market.

That is the decision taken by Axis Technology Software Partners, which has signed up with the Jamcracker Services Delivery Network (JDSN) to offer its DMsuite Express cloud-based data masking solutions .

DMsuite Express automatically secures development, quality assurance, and third-party testing environments by removing confidential data and replacing it with realistic, fictitious data. It primary advantage is ease of use. As there is no programming required, users can instantly secure their cloud environments.

"Securing test data in the cloud has become mission-critical for many companies," said Mike Logan, President of Axis Technology Software. “By partnering with Jamcracker, we are able to offer an automated, easy solution that allows companies to securely leverage cloud environments with their sensitive data.”

DMsuite automates the data masking process, making it safe and cost-effective to provide development, quality assurance, and third-party testing environments with the highest quality data possible. Production data, with real customer information, is never accessible within DMsuite or anywhere in the target environment. This, the company claims, makes it the most secure and effective data masking offering on the market today.

It maintains referential integrity across business lines and different platforms such as Oracle, MSSQL, Cache, and Hadoop,as well as file formats that include VSAM, Excel, delimited, and XML.

It can be used straight out of the box as it comes with self-service provisioning functionality. It is Web-based and its central point of control enables easy operation, administration, logging, and auditing.

JSDN service allows service providers, resellers and vendors to deliver cloud services to businesses and consumers. This partnership will enable Jamcracker to offer DMsuite through its global services delivery network of distribution partners including communications and IT services providers.

“Jamcracker enables communications and IT services providers to create their own branded marketplaces and offer ’best-of-breed‘ cloud services to their business customers. It also enables cloud services brokerages for IT departments within larger enterprises so they can provision, deliver, and manage internally and externally hosted services for their organizations’ employees,” said Steve Crawford, vice president of marketing and business development at Jamcracker. “We are committed to aggregating and delivering the broadest selection of leading cloud services, and are pleased to extend DMsuite through our services delivery network.”
