DiscountASP.NET has formally entered into cloud hosting services with the launch of Snapp Systems. Snapp is an elastic platform-as-a-service (PaaS) solution for .NET applications and the first PaaS to include a configurable staging and production environment for each application. Today, DiscountASP.NET announces adding hostname support to Snapp allowing developers to use their own domain names with Snapp’s production environment.

“We are working hard to continually enhance Snapp to make it a first class PaaS for .NET applications.” said Takeshi Eto, VP Marketing and Business Development at DiscountASP.NET. “We made adding domain name support to Snapp an early priority to help encourage developers to test Snapp using real world applications.”

The underlying technology for Snapp Systems is Windows Azure Pack (formerly Windows Azure Services for Windows Server and Microsoft codename Antares). With Windows Azure Pack, Microsoft is providing partners with the same technology that powers Azure Web Sites so that hosting providers can run Azure Services on-premises and provide differentiated cloud hosting solutions.

Snapp Systems supports deployment using FTP, WebDeploy, GIT and Team Foundation Server to a staging site where users can test their applications before it is set live. After successful testing, developers can publish their application from the staging environment to the live production site without redeployment.

Snapp Systems is scalable with the ability to add and remove web workers on-demand, and includes an easy rollback feature. Snapp also offers an exception management system to help developers debug and identify issues within their code.
