MigSolv, (Migration Solutions), has been awarded the European Commission’s Data Centre Code of Conduct Award 2013 for its campaign to endorse the ‘green standard’ for best practice in the industry. The award was made at the Data Centres Europe conference by Paulo Bertoldi who manages the Code of Conduct programme for the European Commission.

Commenting on the new award, MigSolv’s Managing Director Alex Rabbetts, said: “I’m delighted with this recognition of our work to make data centres both more efficient and more environmental. MigSolv was at the forefront of the establishment of the Code five years ago and has been promoting it ever since because it makes good sense for our clients, our industry and our planet. The Code of Conduct has gone from strength to strength with over 250 companies now participating and I‘m very proud of my company’s role in the success of this initiative.”

MigSolv was awarded the Data Centre Code of Conduct award 2013 for endorsing a record number of new participants in the programme. Along with MigSolv, other winners this year included Arm, CapGemini, Equinix, CEA-DAM, Ebay, Unilever and Panduit Europe. In 2012 MigSolv also received a Data Centre Code of Conduct award for the refurbishment of its own data centre in Norwich, UK.

The Data Centre Code of Conduct programme is a voluntary initiative for data centre owners, operators and service providers managed by the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre. By promoting best practice to reduce IT and facilities load in data centres, the Code encourages the European data centre industry to achieve ever greater efficiencies, power saving and a reduction in their environmental impact.
