Node4 facilitates 20% growth year-on year for leading software company, Legend

A leading UK technology company providing leisure management software and other technical services to the health clubs and leisure centre markets has improved its efficiency and recorded substantial year-on-year growth since partnering with Node4.

Over the past three years, York based Legend Club Management Systems Ltd has expanded at a rate of over 20% per annum which coincided with its move to host much of its IT infrastructure with data centre specialist Node4. Legend’s services for the health and leisure industry help centres to improve efficiency, by enhanced control of access to their facilities, automated turn-styles, photo capture and a host of other innovative technology solutions such as CRM, e-Commerce web portals, Smartphone and Tablet based apps. For instance, Legend’s system flags up customers that have not attended for long periods of time, allowing the client to pinpoint those customers most in need of attention and service them. They also supply leisure centres with the infrastructure to manage e-POS, bookings, enquiries and transactions with an efficient front-desk service.

In order for a specialist private cloud solution provider like Legend to expand at such a rate the reliability of their data centre partner is vitally important. The appointment of Node4 has enabled Legend to capitalise on demand for its innovative service, driven by the need for improved operational efficiencies. The majority of Legend’s new contracts are for system migrations where established leisure centre operators have needed to improve income generation and reduce operating costs.

Sean Maguire, Managing Director at Legend Club Management Systems Ltd, said, “When we visited Node4’s Leeds data centre, our first impression was of a specialist hosting company which placed a high priority on innovation because it was immediately clear this was a purpose built environment with excellent capacity and fail over measures. Being a large new centre, there was also space for growth - important for our future expansion needs. Moreover, the UPS and backup generators were of the highest specification I’d seen. Being ISO27001 accredited was important, and with Node4’s competitive rates, it was impossible to say ‘no’.”

“Since we began working with Node4, we have grown at an incredible rate of well over 20% year-on-year for three years. Joining forces with Node4 has allowed us to act with confidence when dealing with large opportunities, knowing that we absolutely have the capacity in our data centre partner to grow without limits. We now have the ability to add a significant footprint and cross data centre capacity to our offering. We can also focus on a lot of other work we need to do and can sleep comfortably at night knowing that our customer systems are secure and running in a high availability environment! Last but not least, we have always received excellent support from Node4 in the two-and-a-half years we have been with the company.”

Paul Bryce, Business Development Director at Node4, said, “By sharing the volume of its infrastructure with Node4, Legend has become more agile. Our aim is to facilitate operations for our customers and we are pleased that Legend has entrusted us with their systems.”
