Nine more NFV documents opened for industry comment

At the 7th meeting of ETSI’s Network Functions Virtualisation (NFV) Industry Specification Group (ISG), co-hosted by Citrix and Ericsson in Santa Clara from 29 July to 1 August 2014, nine draft NFV documents were released for industry comment, a new leadership team was elected and plans for the next phase of NFV were laid down.

Rackspace, the managed cloud company, has thrown its weight behind the first ever Science to Data Science (S2DS) summer school. U.K. research released by Juniper Networks reveals that nearly one quarter of respondents (21.8 percent) said they don’t use cloud technology or don’t know what it is, yet the same respondents spend large amounts of time using digital, cloud-based applications such as Instagram, WhatsApp and Spotify. The findings highlight a large disparity between consumers’ digital behaviour and their understanding of the technology that powers it.
